To get admission in medical courses such as MBBS, BDS etc candidates have to appear and qualify in entrance examination conducted by AIIMS or NEET.

The eligibility to appear for various medical examination is candidate must have passed 12th with PCB as main paper. The minimum required aggregate to appear for examination varies :-

NEET - 50%.

AIIMS - 60%

For admission in BAMS, BHMS etc candidates have to qualify in entrance conducted by various institutes.

There is no admission on aggregate basis in medical courses.

If you want to study a medical course after passing your 12th standard then you need to pass your 12th standard with physics, chemistry , biology and English from a recognised board.

You must have scored at least 60% marks if you belong to general and OBC category. Minimum 50% is required for SC / ST candidates.

Minimum age required to appear in this entrance exam is 17.

You should try to score as well as possible in your 12th boards as the competition level is quite high nowadays. Even 90% marks in your 12th boards is not enough.

You should however try to score more than 95% in order to get admission in any good institute after clearing your NEET examination, otherwise you might not get admission in good colleges/institutions.

In medical entrance exam like NEET, class 12th marks are also important and performance in the entrance exam will also be counted. Hence, make sure you have good marks in both.

There is a minimum criteria of 50% marks in class 12th, to become eligible for NEET or any other medical entrance exam.
