There is no such rule which restricts a eight year old son to get admission in the third class in CBSE. Since, children starts their schooling at the age of three from nursery class.

As per the CBSE guidelines on age limit, student must be at least 5 years old to get admission in Class 1. Accordingly, students must be at least 7 years old to get admission in class 3.
As your son age is 8 years, he is eligible to get admission in class 3 . |

Re: Possibility to get CBSE 3rd standard admission for an 8 years old candidate?
As far as the CBSE age criteria for school admissions is concerned, it suggests that the age of the student should be such that it is not less than 14 years as on the 1st October of that year in which the student got admitted to Class 10th.
So, being 8 years old, your son is definitely eligible for admission to Class 3rd of any CBSE school provided the school does not impose any age criteria of its own as it is a general practice of certain top schools of setting age criteria of their own for limiting number of applications for school admissions. |
