I am currently pursuing my B.Tech in ECE branch. I am planning to join IAF as a pilot after completing my engineering. My university has a grading system and we are awarded TGPA and CGPA after every semester. I would be very obliged if anyone could tell me about the relaxation.

IAF stands for Indian Air Force.
It is very smart and good choice to serve country as IAF pilot.
Students can join IAF as pilot after completing graduation through CDSE.
CDSE stands for Combined Defence Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year.

Eligibility to become IAF pilot after graduation through CDSE are
-Candidate must be a citizen of India
-Candidate must be of age less than 23 years
-Candidate must have passed graduation through maths or physics or completed engineering degree.
-Candidate appearing in final year of graduation are also eligible to apply
-Only male candidate are allowed to appear for admission in Flying Batch.

So, it is not possible for you to join IAF as pilot.
You have to choose other field to serve your country if you wish .

No, there is no relaxation in grading system on the basis of sex in IAF.
There is no relaxation of any kind on any basis in Indian Air Force.

You have to apply for CDS exams to get job in IAF.

Age limit : 19-23 Years

Candidate must be citizen of India.
Candidate must be unmarried.
Educational Qualification : Candidate must have B.Sc degree in Physics or Mathematics or Engineering degree.

No, relaxation is provided for Indian Air Force candidates(Male or Female). The relaxation is applicable to those who have a commercial license. The relaxation will be applicable upto five years. For more details, visit the official website of Indian Air Force: http://indianairforce.nic.in/

Eligibility criteria for AFCAT exam:-

Flying branch :-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade from a recognized university but you must have mathematics and physics in 12th standard.

Candidates age should be in between 19 to 23 years.

Ground duty branch:-

Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.

Candidates age should be in between 20 to 27 years.

You should fulfill below given criteria to become a AFCAT officer.

Uncorrected without glass – 6/12
Corrected with glass – 6/6
Limits of Myopia – 3.5
Limits of Hypermetropia – +2.5
Binocular vision III
Limits of Colour Perception I

Important Date for AFCAT 2015 exam:-

Start of Receipt of Applications: 27th June 2015

Last date for the Receipt of Applications: 23rd July 2015

Date of AFCAT & EKT Exam: 13th September 2015 (Sunday)

Date of Course Commencing: July 2016

No, there is no such relaxation provided in grading system to female candidates in IAF. Both of the candidates are treated alike and no such priority is provided to either one in any case.

Therefore, the criteria is to be followed by both male and female candidate.
