Sir/Mam, My son studied in central school till 9th. Passed 10th through open school and he is studying in I PUC commerce. I want to know whether he can join army/sainik school for 12th. Can you please give me the details on this? Thank you!

Admission can only be given if the candidate passes the entrance exam of the school and its strictly based on merit basis and there is no physical test conducted by the school.
The candidates must pass their class 10 from a recognized board. The candidate has to take admission in class 11 to understand the procedure and syllabus completely or otherwise have to take permission from high authority to take direct admission in class 12.

Most of the army schools don't offer direct admission in class 12th, unless it a case of transfer of parents of the student. If your son has studied open schooling, then he will face difficulty in getting admission in class 12th directly at any regular schools like army school.

Also, army schools have seats filled most of the time and it will be very difficult to find a seat in such schools which comes under central government. They conduct entrance exam for admission and one has to clear it with good marks.

Yes, if he has completed 10th Class from a recognized university and pursuing PUC from a recognized university then I am sure your son is eligible to join Army School. Make sure your son has completed 10th Class from a recognized board/ school in order to get admission into best Army schools that are available.
