Re: What subject to choose after passing class 10?
To become a collector in India, one needs to clear the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The minimum educational qualification required for appearing in this exam is a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
After passing class 10th, you can choose to pursue any stream i.e. Science, Commerce, or Arts, depending on your interest and career goals. It is recommended that you choose the stream that aligns with your interests, as that will help you perform better in your academics and have a fulfilling career. To pursue a career in civil services, it is advisable to opt for subjects like Political Science, History, Economics, and Geography, which are part of the Arts or Humanities stream. However, it is not mandatory to pursue these subjects, and candidates from different streams also clear the Civil Services Examination every year. |

Re: What subject to choose after passing class 10?
One can become collector after qualifying in Civil Service examination.
The eligibility to apply for the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised university. The age limit is 21-32 years. So, you can pursue any stream in std 12th and bachelor degree to become eligible to apply for the examination. The only way to qualify in the examination is to prepare for the examination with dedication, determination and devotion towards studies as per the syllabus of the examination. For more information about examination pattern and syllabus visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: What subject to choose after passing class 10?
After completing Class 10, you need to complete your higher secondary education (Class 12) with any stream (Science, Commerce or Arts). You can then pursue a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. It is advisable to pursue a degree in social sciences or administrative studies to increase your chances of getting selected for the post of a collector.
The post of a collector comes under the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), which is a part of the Civil Services Examination. You need to appear for this exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam comprises three stages: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Personal Interview. You need to clear all three stages to get selected for the post of a collector. |

Re: What subject to choose after passing class 10?
To become a collector, you need to qualify Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year and for appearing in the same examination, the minimum education required is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
So, you can opt for any stream as per your strength and interest for pursuing your higher secondary school degree and then graduation degree later on as the stream of academic degree does not matter as far as the eligibility for appearing in Civil Services Examination and therefore for becoming a collector is concerned. For complete details regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in. |
