What are the subjects I should choose to study in Intermediate Humanities to become an IPS Officer?


Hi everyone, I would like to know what are the subjects I should take in my Intermediate course with Humanities stream to ensure I will be able to do become an IPS Officer? It is my dream to become an IPS Officer. Please reply as soon as possible.

To become an IPS officer you can choose any stream as per your interest because the minimum qualification required to appear in civil services exam is graduation in any discipline from a recognised University.
There is no percentage criteria.

You can opt for any stream either science or arts or commerce in 12th according to your interest in that stream. Entrance examination for diploma Police Indian Services is Civil Services Examination. Civil Services Examination do not require any particular subject specialisation.

Eligibility criteria for Civil Services Examination:-
Graduation from any discipline are eligible to apply for civil services.
Age limit is 21 to 32 years.

There is no need to opt or study any particular subject in intermediate to become an IPS officer.

Candidates who have passed graduation in any discipline from a recognised University are eligible to apply for IPS examination.

So, after completion of your graduation course you can apply for IPS examination.

Your age should be between 21years to 32 years for general candidates.

Age relaxation is given below:-
5 years relaxation for SC / St candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex- servicemen

Number of attempts:-
For open Category - 4 attempts
For SC / ST category - 7 attempts.
