AIPMT stands for All India Pre-Medical Test and it is a medical entrance examination held by Central Board of Secondary Education for the selection of students for their medical courses such as MBBS, BDS ,etc. from government medical colleges.

The minimum educational qualification required for appearing in this examination one must have a senior secondary degree with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects securing at least 50% aggregate in the same from a recognized board of education. Also one's age must lie within 17 years to 25 years till the final date of the year in which one is appearing in the same examination.

Generally notification and application form are available online from the December and lasts upto around 2 months with late fine. The examination is held in the very first week of May and the results are announced by the first half of June.

Generally each year almost 5.5 Lac to 6 Lac students appear in this examination. Also an gradual increase in seen the number of students as session passes as for this year the number students applied for the examination was 6.3 Lac.
