I have completed my M.Sc in Zoology so can I be eligible for applying ugc net in environmental science

Can I be eligible to apply for UGC NET in Environmental Science after completing MSc in chemistry?

Yes you are eligible to sit for the UGC NET examination.

NET Eligibility Criteria:-

-NET stands for National Eligibility Test and this examination is conducted by the University Grant Commission twice every year in the month of June & December.

-This exam can be given by candidates interested to look for jobs for the post of lectureship or wants to do PhD.

-To give this examination you need to have a post graduate degree with minimum minimum 55% of marks.

-This exam can also be given by candidates in the final year of their college.

-For JRF maximum age limit is 28 years which is relaxed upto five years for the SC/ST/OBC. There is no age limit for lectureship.

UGC has provided the list of post graduation subjects in which zoology, chemistry, botany, microbiology, etc are not mentioned and they have clearly mentioned that the students must have the masters degree in the list that has been provided. So I guess zoology, chemistry, botany, microbiology is eligible only for net jrf and not for ugc net. This is what I understood, if anyone has different opinion then do share.

To be a lecturer in college or university you need to clear UGC NET examination first. The NET certificate will make you eligible to apply as a lecturer in the colleges.
the minimum eligibility for UGC NET is post graduation degree. thus you are eligible for the exam.
Thus you will be eligible to teach zoology after qualifying the UGC NET with more the cutoff scores.
