i want to do phd but i want details that for doing phd what qualifications we should have? Can someone please give me the complete details on the same? I just wanted to knw the complete eligibility criteria which we need to follow to get the admission for Ph.D?

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for Ph.D entrance exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Your age should be below 28 years for JRF post.

You must have valid GATE, UGC NET or CSIR NET score card.

In India, a Masters degree is required to gain admission to a doctoral program (P.hD).
In some subjects, doing a Masters in Philosophy (M.Phil) is a prerequisite to start P.hD.
For some prestigious Universities it is required to qualify the all India level examination such as National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET) conducted by University Grants Commission.

You need to make sure that you are having a Masters Degree with an aggregate score of 55% marks.
This is the only criteria you need to have.
You need to appear for the NET Examination and once you clear the NET Examination and once you do so you will be eligible for the PhD Course.
So you need to concentrate on the Entrance Examination as well.

Does NET examination required even for distance-education master's degree?
