Qualification required to be a Journalist?


What qualifications are required to be a journalist?
I Have passed my SSC AND INTER and i had stopped my degree after completing 1st year by some financial issues am i eligible to be a journalist?

To become journalist you need to be graduate in mass communication and journalism after passing class 12th in any discipline from recognised board with minimum 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories. Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years where as relaxation is given to reserved categories.

You have completed 12th standard so you are eligible for journalism course.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board are eligible for graduation degree in Journalism.

Your age should be above 17 years.

Minimum qualifications required to pursue journalism is the completion of (10+2) or equivalent education. Some institutes conduct entrance exam for admission in journalism course.

Dear Friend,

To join bachelor of journalism you must have complete 10 + 2 or equivalent to this.

In some colleges or universities you will enter directly based on merit list. in some colleges or universities you must appear in competitive examination to enter in bachelor of journalism.

In India you can do journalism along with mass communication. this is called Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Following are some Disciplines in Journalism and Mass Communication:

1. Print Journalism
2. Radio and Television Journalism
3. TV and Video Production
4. Digital Media and Web Journalism
5. Advertising and Public Relationship
6. Journalism and Mass Communication
7. Communication Management

To become a journalist it is very important to pass intermediate firstly with good marks.
You must have distinction as because it will help you more. After that you need to pursue Mass Communication to make future in journalism.

To become a journalist you must have a degree, diploma or post - graduate degree in journalism.
Its not necessary to do diploma or degree in journalism. But being post - graduate in journalism matters the most in India.
However, you can opt any subject in graduation period to pursue post - graduation in journalism.
To pursue graduation in journalism or mass communication you must have passed intermediate from any stream.

I am doing graduation in BA now in 3rd semester can I do journalism after graduation if I can than I will be doing ba in journalism or Ma in journalism?
