The decision of joining the coaching institutes depends upon you. If you are confident that you can crack the IIT by self study then there is no problem in doing self study.
But as per my suggestion it would be better if you join some coaching institutes for the preparation of IIT like exams. AIEEE and IIT JEE are both top entrance examination for Bachelors program engineering in top premier institutes like IIT's and NIT's

If you crack JEE with good score then you will have chance to get into IIT's NIT's and all the top 100 intitutes

if you crack AIEEE you can get seat in NIT and other good institutes

In examination pattern both has variation In JEE you will have less questions with a high standard subject and concepts.

Many students can clear iit without any coaching.
U need to b over intelligent for cracking iit-jee without a coaching.

IIT-JEE is one of the toughest exam of engineering. Even students who join Coaching Institutions are unable to qualify exams. Don't ask about students who do self-study. They even can't understand the way from where they have to start to solve the question.
Join any good coaching institute either in your own city or in Kota, then only you can crack IIT-JEE. By self-study, you can't crack. It is not easy one as you think.

you now studying in science stream with maths subject and want to go for engineering.
It's nice that you hard working for iit also with reading famous books.
now if you want to crack IIT-JEE,then you have very heavy burden day to day because you have to also prepare for your board exam.so if you want to crack IIT-JEE with your self ,then it's so hard and may be possible you can not crack it even do very much hard work.and may be affect to your board exam.then it's very much loss.
so now a time,you have to IIT-JEE prepare,but don't forge about preparation for board exam.because it's very much important.
my friend,i not now discourage to you.but that's very much possibility and occurs for number of students.
so,if you want to pass your time for IIT-JEE,then you have to prepare maximum 2 hours.other reading time you have to pass with your board exam preparation at least 5 to 6 hours.then you can get so nice percentage in board exam and get a admission in good famous colleges even you not crack IIT-JEE.
