Merchant Navy is a Non Combat fleet which is there for candidate to join in ship which is used to transport Cargo's,vessels and many heavy equipments and sometimes people too.

To join in Merchant navy with a qualification of just completed 10th even with 66% is not possible as you are not satisfying the needed qualification for joining in it.

The qualification which you need is that you need to have completed a degree and that to in the following:

B.E Marine Engineering

B.S.C Nautical Science

M.E Marine Engineering

The qualification which you need to possess to join in these courses are:

For B.E Marine Engineering eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English and the duration of the course is 4 years


For B.S.C Nautical Science the course duration is 3 years and the qualification needed is that you need to have completed +2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English

For M.E Marine Engineering duration is 2 years and eligibility needed is B.E Marine Engineering.


If you are satisfying the needed qualification for the courses means then you are eligible for joining in those courses to complete and join in Merchant Navy.

As you are just completed 10th choose a stream accordingly to join in the courses.

Yes you can definitely join merchant navy. The basic courses for merchant navy are:-
1. B.Tech marine engineering.
2. Bsc. Nautical science.
3. Diploma Nautical science.
For bsc/diploma nautical science and b.tech marine engineering you should be 10+2 with physics and mathematics with 60% marks and english in your 10th with 50%marks.

A Merchant Navy is the fleet of merchant vessels that are registered in a country.

The eligibility criteria required for the Merchant Navy are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of 12th for B.Sc Nautical Science/B. E. Marine Engineering/ M. E. Marine Engineering courses from any accredited board.

* Age limit:- Not more than 20 yrs.

* Nationality:- Indian.

You can not go for merchant navey on the basis of 10th . You have to complete 12 with pcm . Then you can do marine engineering.
