To be eligible for the Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), applicants must meet the following requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum average of 60% in Math 30-1 or Pure Math 30, Physics 30 or Chemistry 30, and English Language Arts 30-1 or English Language Arts 30-2.
  2. English Language Proficiency: Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following tests and scores: TOEFL (paper-based) score of 550 or TOEFL (internet-based) score of 80, or IELTS Academic score of 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5.

Applicants are also recommended to have a background in science, particularly in physics, chemistry, and math, and relevant work experience or prior education in the oil and gas industry.

The admission procedure typically involves submitting an application along with official transcripts, English language proficiency scores (if applicable), and other supporting documents. The application deadlines and specific requirements may vary depending on the program and academic year, so it's recommended to check the NAIT website or contact their admission office for the most up-to-date information.
