Graduate Record Examination (GRE) has revised the test pattern. It can be taken online and paper based. Both examinations have the same pattern, but differ in questions asked. Questions asked in GRE are from,

• Analytical Writing
• Verbal Reasoning
• Quantitative Reasoning
• Unscored
•Research

Verbal Reasoning:

It includes,

• Reading Comprehension
• Text Completion
• Sentence Equivalence

Quantitative Reasoning:

It includes,

• Quantitative Comparison Questions
• Multiple-choice Questions — Select One Answer Choice
• Multiple-choice Questions — Select One or More Answer Choices
• Numeric Entry Questions.

Analytical Writing:

It includes,

• Analyze an Issue task - think about a topic and express your thoughts in writing
• Analyze an Argument task - Analyze and evaluate your thoughts in writing

Un scored and Research questions will not add to your score and they appear after the Analytical Writing and may be in few number.
