How to Pursue PG in Germany after MBBS in India?

You need to take out at least six-seven months before going to Germany as there are many requirements for the country.

You must clear A1 and A2 Level of German language.
Get an admission letter from a government-approved test for TELC B2 and TELC C1.

To pursue a medical postgraduate (PG) program in Germany, follow these procedures:

1. Language proficiency: Ensure you possess a high level of proficiency in the German language. Most PG programs are taught in German, and you may need to provide proof of language proficiency, such as the TestDaF or DSH exams.

2. Recognition of qualifications: Have your medical degree recognized in Germany. Contact the German authorities responsible for recognizing foreign qualifications (e.g., the Central Office for Foreign Education – ZAB) for detailed information and guidance.

3. Registration: Apply for medical licensure and registration. Contact the relevant authority in the state where you wish to practice medicine to initiate the process. You will likely need to provide proofs of identity, qualifications, and good standing in your home country.

4. Specialty training program: Research and apply for specialty training programs (Facharztweiterbildung) in your desired medical field. Different hospitals and institutions offer these programs. Contact the hospitals or regional medical associations directly to check for available positions and application requirements.

5. Approbation: Once you begin your specialty training, you may need to apply for an "Approbation" – the full medical license required to practice medicine independently in Germany. Requirements and processes vary by state, so consult the respective state medical board for detailed information.

6. Licensing examinations: Successfully pass the medical licensing examinations required for practicing medicine in Germany. These include the preliminary examination (Kenntnisprüfung) and the oral and written examinations (Mündliche and Schriftliche Prüfungen).
