Gangarampur College is a government aided college affiliated to the North Bengal University and the college came into existence in the year 1981 as a co-education institution with the objective of expansion of scope of higher education in the remote district of the state of West Bengal. The college earned C++ status from the NAAC in the year 2004.

Admission:

A candidate becomes eligible to apply for the UG courses offered by the institution after passing the higher secondary examination in general steam of education conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education in 10+2 pattern provided he/she has passed in five subject inclusive of English as a compulsory subject. To apply for honors courses candidates must have secured not less than 50% (45% of marks for reserved category candidates) of marks at the qualifying examination.

College Library:

Gangrampur College has a library with reading room facility for faculty members and students. The library subscribes for journals, periodicals and essential magazines regularly in addition to annual purchase of requisite reference and text books. The students are permitted to avail book bank facility from the library from the second year of their degree course. As a step towards offering the best service, the college is planning to computerize its library. Students of the college are permitted to borrow two books at a time and these books are to be returned to the library without any loss within the allowed time.
