General Insurance Corporation of India conducts an entrance exam every year for recruiting candidates for the post of assistants in various insurance companies. The job is very attractive also. Candidates with attractive personality and command over English can apply for this job. Candidates selected for this post will be given many facilities. The various insurance companies recruiting through this exam are:

Structure of G.I.C. Assistants Exam

The exam pattern is exactly same as that of the GIC officer’s exam. Candidates can write the exam in two languages. The two languages are English and Hindi. Candidates attending the exam in Hindi should have selected Hindi language in the application form. Otherwise the candidate needs to attend the exam in English language. All the questions asked will be used to check the candidate’s knowledge in each topic. Candidates will be given both the objective and descriptive type questions. In the descriptive question four choices will be given to the candidate as answers. Candidate need to select the correct answer from the choice given to him.

Test for reasoning

Test of reasoning includes verbal and non verbal type of questions. The test will also be having questions from

Test of Numeric Ability

The questions will be from topics like,

  • Decimals and fractions
  • Relationship between numbers

The questions will be used to check the candidates’ ability in mathematical problems and how quickly he / she can solve a problem.

Test of General knowledge and general awareness

Questions will be based on the events happening around the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed the higher secondary exam or equivalent exam. This is the minimum qualification. Minimum sixty percentage marks should be scored by the candidate in that exam. Candidates with graduation can also apply for the exam. Minimum 50 % is the marks required for applying this exam.

How to Apply?

All the details about the G.I.C. Assistants Examination will be published in the April edition of the employment news. Candidates can apply via online and by hand.

Candidates need to pay fees for applying this examination. Candidates applying online can pay the fees through net banking or by sending a demand draft to the concerned office. The fee details will be there in the application form.

How to fill the Form?

Fill the form using a black point pen. All the data entered should be correct and candidate should have valid proof stating that the data entered in the application form are correct. These proofs will be asked at the time of verification. If any details entered in the application form are found incorrect then the candidate will be barred from applying to any of the examination conducted by the General Insurance Corporation. Also the candidate will be barred from writing the examination for which he / she has already applied.

Candidate should be aware of the things happening in the banking and finance sector. Candidate should study all the financial regulations and acts regarding to banking. Read lots of magazines, by doing so the candidate can increase his / her vocabulary skills. Also the candidate should read newspaper daily for knowing the events taking place across him. To improve his / her English language candidates may watch English movies and also English news. Candidate should study each portions thoroughly. This can be done by studying each topic separately.
