Eligibility requirement:

For getting into the Bachelor of Pharmacy course offered by GITAM Institute of Pharmacy, candidates must have completed their 10+2 or higher secondary examination in science stream from a recognized state board/central board or its equivalent with not less than 60% of aggregate marks in biology/mathematics, chemistry and physics subjects. Candidates must have cleared the qualifying examination in first-class in the very first attempt.

For getting into the Master of Pharmacy courses, candidates must have completed their Bachelor of Pharmacy with not less than 50% of marks from a recognized institution.

Admission Criteria:

Admission of students to the B. Pharm course is done based on the marks secured by the students in the GIPAT (UG) examination, which stands for GITAM Institute of Pharmacy Admission Test and admission to the PG Courses in done based on GIPAT (PG) scores.

How to apply:

Candidates can get the application form from the website of the university at www.gitam.edu or from the selected branches of Indian Bank and Union Bank of India. The filled-in application along with Demand Draft for an amount of Rs.600 drawn in any scheduled banks in favor of GITAM Institute of Pharmacy payable at Visakhapatnam and required certificates should be addressed to the Principal of the institute.

Merit list of admission:

Candidates who have appeared for the GIPAT admission test, will be eligible for admission only if they get the minimum required marks in the qualifying examination according to the eligibility criteria mentioned above. The list of selected candidates will be prepared by the institute based on their performance in the entrance test and candidates who get through the GAT examination will also be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy course.  GAT qualified candidates can directly attend the counseling for admission and they need not take up GIPAT test.

Direct admission to the toppers of different education boards:

Toppers of each of the state boards in India and the central board are eligible to get direct admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy course irrespective of their GIPAT/GAT score according to the eligibility requirements mentioned above.
