The University was started in 1985 to impart par education to its students and it has been awarded 4 stars by the NAAC. The University has provided affiliations for 5 recognized Institutions, 22 PG departments, Centre for Women’s Studies, 42 colleges and the University Science Instrumentation Centre. The Academic Staff College supported by UGC, conducts orientation courses for the faculties of the college or university.
Campus:
Goa University is located on the scenic Taleigao Plateau, which is one of the main parts of the city. The university has 23 postgraduate departments and 2 centers of studies which render master and PhD level courses to the students. The college is well known for its fast growing library which contains over 1, 00,000 numbers of books and 480 periodicals.
Courses Offered:
The University also offers PG Diploma programs in selected disciplines. The masters program in Biotechnology, Degree programs in Physical Education and Fire Technology, B.Sc. (Nursing) degree, certificate course in Portuguese language, M. Com.
Admission Procedure:
The candidates need to contact colleges in person, in order to collect the application form for the specified course. The visiting hour of the college is from 12.00 to 13.00 in the working days.
