Tamil is a Dravidian Language spoken in the state of Tamil Nadu and this language has official status in Tamil Nadu and in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. The language also acts as the official language in the countries like Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Course duration & Eligibility:

The duration of both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Literature in Tamil is three years and for seeking admission to this course, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination in any stream of education with Tamil as a subject at the higher secondary and they should also have secured good percentage of marks in the subject.

Higher studies after UG course in Tamil:

On completion of B.A/B. Litt. in Tamil, candidates can go for M.A/M. Litt. in the same language and they can further go for Ph. D or B. Ed course with specialization in Tamil.

Future prospects of graduates in Tamil:

Candidates who have completed their graduation in Tamil can get employment opportunities in primary schools as Tamil Teachers. If they do their B. Ed in Tamil, they can for teaching position in higher secondary schools and even in colleges after gaining some years of working experience in schools. They can also fine employment opportunities in Government organizations in the state of Tamil Nadu.
