This college was established in 1999 in a sprawling campus situated in the heart of Delhi. This institute is managed and maintained by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee which is a welfare society basically started for serving the people. This society is primarily involved in maintaining the historic Gurudwaras situated in Delhi. Apart from this college, the society also runs a college of education, a Post Graduate management institute, a UG degree college and several polytechnic institutes and an industrial training centre.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology imparts high quality education to the students of Delhi with well built modern laboratories and state-of-art classrooms. It also offers an excellent atmosphere for the students to learn and equip themselves for meeting the challenges of the society.

This institute offers engineering education in the four major disciplines.

Each department has updated instruments for providing practical training in the laboratories.

Computing labs:

The college consists of 8 modern labs which include Programming labs, Internet & Networking labs, Operating Systems lab, Electronics Computer Aided Design lab and another Multimedia lab. On the whole, it has 550 systems of computers with latest configuration. Apart from this the management has added 200 computers for the lab recently. Each lab is interlinked with Wi-Fi connectivity.

Library:

It contains around 43,000 volumes of books, apart from journals and other periodicals. It also offers internet access to select journals via IEL online service. The mode of operation is through Online Public Access System (OPAC). Since library is a member of DELNET, the students can access its service on joining the library.

Placement:

The placement cell of this college offers high quality training for the students to prepare them for facing interview. The web site of this college shows around 93% of the students have obtained employment through on-campus interview and selection process.

Leading companies like HCL, Infosys, Satyam, Birlasoft, Wipro, Sapient Technologies, Larsen Toubro Infotech, I-Flex, Accenture and Sintel have given placement for the batch of 2004-2008 students.
