Bank profile: United Bank of India was nationalized on 19th July 1969. Today it has 1450 branches and a huge deposit of about Rs37000 crores. It is expanding really fast and has provided its customers with some excellent facilities. The main aim of the UBI is to emerge as a dynamic, customer oriented, financially sound and technologically advanced bank of the country.
Job profile: The officers will be working in the department of Information Technology. They will be required to manage and operate with various networks of the bank. They will also be required to work on the security systems, database systems etc.
Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 35 years as on 1st July 2009. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.
Educational Qualifications: A candidate must be a B.E/B.TECH in IT or CSE or Electronics and Communications OR a candidate must be a post graduate in IT or CSE or Electronics and Communications or Mathematics or Statistics or Operations Research OR a candidate must be an MCA from a recognized university. A candidate must preferably have a professional qualification like CCNA, OCA and OCP etc. A candidate must have a minimum experience of 3 years for the IT Officer in MMG scale III and 2 years for scale II.
No. of posts: There are 105 posts for the IT Officers in MMG scale III and 25 posts for the officers in scale II.
Pay scale: The pay scale for an IT officer in MMG Scale III will be Rs. 18240-22280 and for an Officer in MMG Scale II it will be Rs. 13820-19920 plus other allowances.
Selection process: The candidates will have to appear for a written test which will be followed by an interview for the qualifying candidates.

The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs400 (Rs50 for SC/ST/PH) in the form of a DD drawn in the favor of United Bank Of India Recruitment-2/2009 payable at Mumbai. The candidates are required to send the print out of the online application along with the attested copies of their certificates to Post Box No. 9055, Goregaon (East), Mumbai - 400 063
The last date for applying online is 6th October 2009 and for the receipt of applications is 13th October 2009.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I want to apply for the post of Information Technology (IT) Officer in United Bank Of India. I have done MCA from Punjab Technical University (Distance Learning) with 67% marks in aggregate. Further, I have a work experience of more than 3 years with BPO industry but not in IT industry.
Also, I have not done any such course like CCNA, OCA and OCP. I would like to know whether I can apply for the post of Information Technology (IT) Officer or not.
