Quote:
SBI and IBPS are completely different bodies. State Bank Of India conduct exams for the recruitment of personnel for various posts for its own branches and Associative bank's whereas Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection has received a mandate from the following 19 Public Sector Banks to conduct Common Written Online Examination (CWE)- Allahabad Bank Andhra Bank Bank of Baroda Bank of India Bank of Maharashtra Canara Bank Central Bank of India Corporation Bank Dena Bank Indian Bank Indian Overseas Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Punjab National Bank Punjab & Sind Bank Syndicate Bank Union Bank of India UCO Bank Vijaya Bank So, if you give an online written exam of IBPS and get Score Card then you can only appear in the above mentioned banks. For SBI PO you need to appear in the exam and qualify the same exam conducted by SBI itself. With Regards |

Re: Is IBPS score necessary for SBI PO post?
IBPS Score Card is not valid for SBI posts because SBI conduct their own Common Written Examination.
IBPS Conducts CWE for 20 Nationalised Banks in which SBI is not included. So if you want to join SBI then apply for SBI CWE and get good marks in it . Educational Qualification for SBI PO: Graduation in any discipline is required for SBI PO. SO if you are Graduate then definitely you can apply for SBI PO. Age Limit: Age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are a General Category Candidate. Age relaxation is there for SC/ST for 5 years , 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD Category. Examination Pattern: -Objective Type Paper -Interview Those getting top marks will be selected for the post. For more information visit http://www.sbi.co.in |

Re: Is IBPS score necessary for SBI PO post?
The answer is pretty simply. State Bank of India (SBI) conducts its separate entrance exam for the PO post. It does not rely on the entrance exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services.
The banks who select candidates on the basis of IBPS entrance exams are: Allahabad Bank Andhra Bank Bank of Baroda Bank of India Bank of Maharashtra Canara Bank Central Bank of India Corporation Bank Dena Bank Indian Bank Indian Overseas Bank Oriental Bank of Commerce Punjab National Bank Punjab & Sind Bank Syndicate Bank Union Bank of India United Bank of India UCO Bank Vijaya Bank The State Bank of India is one such Public sector bank that conducts its own entrance exam. Therefore you are not required to appear for IBPS entrance exam for either Clerk or Bank PO if want job in the State Bank of India. Instead you will have to apply for the entrance exam conducted by the State Bank of India. The date of next exam to be held by State Bank of India is 28th April 2013. Eligibility Criteria 1. Candidate must be of Indian origin. 2. Any graduation degree with minimum of 65 per cent marks. 3. If belong to reserve category than 60 per cent marks are required. 4. Must have basic knowledge to operate computers. 5. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. Age Relaxation Other Backward Classes - 3 Years Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe - 5 Years |
