SSLCis an exam conducted by Karnataka State Board and various choices are there for students to choose their first, second and third language.  There are a total of fifty two questions in the question paper.

Division:

There are around twelve sections in the question paper. The paper consists of both grammatical questions as well as literature questions. The first two sections have grammatical questions.  Then next five sections are from prose and poetry. Then again a grammatical section and at last questions are based on letter,paragraph writing and comprehension solving.

Time Allotted and Marks:

It is a two and a half hour paper.The maximum that one can get in the paper is hundred.

Pattern:

In the beginning there are around fifteen multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. Some of the questions are from literature while others are grammatical questions. Then there are five grammatical questions on fill in the blanks having one mark each. Then there are five matching questions. Some questions are there on prose and poetry. Then there is a question on letter writing. There is an option to choose between formal and informal letter. This question carries five marks. Next the paper contains two paragraph writing questions.  In one of them some clues are given about a story. The last question is a comprehension and some questions are given carrying one mark each.
