Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences is a deemed university functioning from the Indian state of Maharashtra. The institution was granted the status of deemed university by the University Grants Commission in the year 2005 and the university has earned A grade status from the NAAC. The university holds the pride of being the first self-funded university in the region and it offers education in the faculties of medicine and its allied disciplines. The university has earned B.C. Roy Award for Research from the President of the nation Smt. Pratibha Patil on the occasion of the teachers day, this award was granted towards the university as an accreditation towards its excellence in the field of research.

To further strengthen the contribution of the university towards the field of research, a separate institute called as Datta Maghe Department of Post Graduate Education and Research was started by the university. Datta Meghe University is offering education through its constituent colleges in the faculties of Ayurved, nursing, physiotherapy, dentistry and medicine. Each of these faculties has a single college thereby making a total of five constituent colleges for the university. Admission of student to the MBBS, BAMS, B. Sc Nursing and BDS courses offered by the institution is done based on the merit secured by candidates in the DMIMS All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test and for getting into UG courses offered by the university, candidates must have attainted at least 17 years of age. The MBBS and other medical courses offered by the university through its Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College are approved by the Medical Council of India.

In addition to the aforesaid university, the management of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences also manages other institutions like four engineering and research institution, one nursing college and five schools and these are called as sister institutions of Datta Megha Institute of Medical Sciences. Thus, the group is growing as a top educational hub in the state of Maharashtra and it offers great contribution to the development and medical and related education.
