Dravidian University came into existence in the year 1997 on the 20th of October and the university is offering education through its school of commerce & management, information sciences & technology, herbal studies and naturo sciences, human resource development, human and social sciences and comparative literature and translation studies. A minimum of two and maximum of seven departments are functioning under these schools thereby offering education under the aforesaid disciplines. In addition to offering regular courses through affiliated colleges, the university is also offering some courses through its center for distance education, center for online programme and centre for off-campus education.
