Engineering is a highly prestigious course for the students which give a great opportunity to get a job in this field. Electronics engineering is the course which deals with various equipments and the technology behind them such as microprocessors and microcontrollers.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of Microprocessors and Microcontrollers is a subjective paper. It is technical paper so it requires a good knowledge in the paper. The paper contains 7 questions and 5 are to be attempted from it. Question No. 1 is compulsory and rest 4 are to be solved from the remaining questions. The questions in the paper are required to be solved with required diagram. Questions are further divided into 2-3 sub-questions. Question No. 7 is of short notes, out of 4 short notes, 3 are to be solved.

Questions in the paper are of subjective type. Questions asked are on pipelining, segment override prefix, power down mode of IC8051, comparison between RISC and CISC, explanation of methods of passing parameters, different type of IC and functions of them, minimum code and maximum code of an IC, short notes on registers of PIC microcontroller, Harvard architecture etc. Questions asked are totally technical and candidates should have a good knowledge in IC as it is the most important component of this subject.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks which can be awarded in this paper are 100 and time allotted is 3 hours only. Each question is of 20 marks and it is further divided into sub-questions. Most sub-questions are of 10 marks.
