National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology started functioning from the year 1966 and is a highly reputed educational institution of the country. The college is run by the Indian Government in joint association with UNDP-UNESCO. It provides opportunity to take up unconventional streams.

Courses offered

The institute offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses to be pursued and most of them being very rare and unique. The college offers engineering bachelors in the streams which include Foundry Technology, Forge Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and bachelors also in Humanities and Social Science. At the postgraduate level the college provides an option from all the above mentioned streams and an additional field of Environmental Engineering.

The students get placed in companies such as Flowserve Corporation, Vedanta, Tata Motors, Hindalco, Eicher Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bharat Forge, Hi-Tech Gears, Telcon and many others.

Infrastructure

The campus area of the college is 20 acres with all the modernized facilities available for the students within its boundaries. The college has gymnasium, well furnished labs, well stocked library and all the modern amenities.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate in order to get admitted to this institute must qualify a written entrance examination with a good rank.

The aspirants should have a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent. There is a leniency of 20% in this limit for the SC/ST candidate. The candidates’ age should not be more than 22 years on 31st June of the year in which he takes the admission.
