Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Pharmacy was founded by Dr. D.Y. Patil in the year of 1999 in the vision of enriching the students with knowledge and fulfilling their dreams to achieve something in professional course. The college started functioning from 2003.

Courses offered:

The college offers primarily two courses:

Diploma in Pharmacy: The course duration is for two years. The minimum eligibility for getting admission is the student should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their subjects and this course is approved by Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.

Bachelor of Pharmacy: The course duration is for four years and is affiliated to University of Pune. Eligibility for getting admission to this course is the student should have passed Higher Secondary exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics as their subjects. In addition to that, he/she should have secured minimum 50% marks in the above subjects.

Admission:

Out of the total seats, 80% of seats are filled by the Department of Technical Education and the remaining 20% are filled by the college on the basis of merit marks.

Facilities:

The college campus contains a hostel for its students with well maintained amenities. The central auditorium has a seating capacity of 250 and is fully air-conditioned. The campus has a big spacious lab containing updated equipments for the benefit of the students.

Placement:

The college provides ample opportunities for students getting placed in leading pharmaceutical companies since it is one of the most demanded courses. The student can find various opening in the field of production, marketing, research oriented jobs or in community services. Leading companies like IPCA, CIPLA, Sun Pharmaceutical, Cadila and Ranbaxy recruit students on campus.

Special Activities:

Number of workshops is being sponsored by University of Pune for the benefit of students for developing their overall personality and skills. The students are encouraged to participate openly in many research activities for which grants are obtained from AICTE or University of Pune.
