Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur) was established in the year 1959 by an Act of Parliament under the Government of India. It came into existence as an Autonomous University declared to be Institute of National Importance under IIT Act. The institute was initially established as an education and research institution. Mr. M. Anandkrishnan is the present Chairman of the institute. Mr. Sanjay Govind Dhande is the director of the institute. The institute has an academic staff of total 1200 personnel. There are above 5400 students doing their undergraduate or post graduate courses in the institute.

Job Profile:

Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur) is looking forward to recruit eligible Indian Nationals on the following vacant positions of Principal Research Engineer, Senior Research Engineer, Principal Scientific Officer, Senior Scientific Officer, Computer Engineer (Grade-I) and Computer Engineer (Grade-II). The posts will be filled purelu on regular/ deputation/ contractual basis.

1. Recruitment of Principal Research Engineer:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 13 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8900.

2. Recruitment of Senior Research Engineer:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 10 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

3. Recruitment of Principal Scientific Officer:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 13 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8900.

4. Recruitment of Senior Scientific Officer:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 8 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

5. Recruitment of Computer Engineer (Grade-I):
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university with minimum 3 years experience in relevant field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

6. Recruitment of Computer Engineer (Grade-II):
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to possess M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university. Candidates with B.Tech degree and minimum 2 years relevant experience, are also eligible for the post.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Selection Process:

Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in the final stage of the selection process i.e. Personal Interview Test with Selection Committee. Only those candidates who manage to perform well in the interview test, will be considered at the time of the making final decision on the selections for the posts.
