National Institute of Technology comprises the thirty autonomous universities located in each major state of India. Initially, the NITs were referred as Regional Engineering Colleges and were actually governed by the state governments. The main idea behind the inception of NITS was to promote regional diversity and multi cultural understanding in India. The institutes also aims to conduct various technical and cultural festivals for showcasing the talents of students. Research paper presentations, robotics competitions etc comprises the technical festivals conducted by the institutes.

Job Profile:

National Institute of Technology invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for filling up the following faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. Candidates are required to fulfill all the eligibility conditions set for the desired positions.

Eligibility:

The upper age limit set for the post of Professor is 50 years.
The upper age limit set for the post of Associate Professor is 40 years.
The upper age limit set for the post of Assistant Professor is 35 years.

Reserved categories candidates may get relaxation in the upper age limit set for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in National Institute of Technology.

Educational Qualification:

Professor: Ph.d. degree or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in aggregate at the B.Tech or M.Sc. or M.A. or MBA level in appropriate branch. Candidates must have atleast 10 years of experience in teaching or research field.

Associate Professor: Ph.d. degree or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in aggregate at the B.Tech or M.Sc. or M.A. or MBA level in appropriate branch. Candidates must have atleast 6 years of experience in teaching or research field.

Assistant Professor: Ph.d. degree or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in aggregate at the B.Tech or M.Sc. or M.A. or MBA level in appropriate branch.

Associate Professor: Only 11 posts are available.
Assistant Professor: Only 89 posts are available.

Pay Scale:

Professor: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.
Associate Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.
Associate Professor: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000.
