Pt. M.L.N. Law College was established in the year 1961 to mark the Birth Centenary of the famous legal expert of the nation Pandit Moti Lal Nehru and named after him. Initially, from the year 1961-67, the college was affiliated to Sagar University and from the year 1967 to 1995, the college came under the jurisdiction of A.P. Singh University. Finally, in the year 1996, the college again got affiliation from Dr. Hari Singh Gour/Sagar University.

Pt. M.L.N. Law College follows the syllabus prescribed by the University Grants Commission, Dr. Hari Singh Gour University and the Law Council of India for the following courses offered by it:

• Five-year honors degree course in LLB

• Three-year degree course in LLB

Activities at the college:

Pandit Moti Lal Nehru Law College organizes moot court competitions and classes to offer practical training to the students, who are also allowed to participate in the moot court competitions organized by other law colleges. The college is also organizing programs like legal awareness for the local people in association with Legal Services Authorities of the state. In addition, the college also organizes study tours for the students to visit historical and educational places to offer general awareness to the students.

Library at Pandit Moti Lal Nehru Law College:

Library at the college is divided into different sections like deo library section, book bank section, textbook section, encyclopedia section and reference section. The students, staff members, judicial officers, local bar members and even public personnel with the interest of reading are allowed access to the library. The library has preserved a number of manuscripts relating to history, philosophy, religion, astrology, science, arts and literature.

Lecture series organized by the college:

In addition to offering regular academic lectures to the students, Pandit Moti Lal Nehru Law College also organizes lectures from experts in the field of law and renowned lawyers to offer wide knowledge to the students.
