Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS) is one among the institutes of Indian Council of Medical Research which is located in Patna. The institute is named after Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India. The institute offers research on various subjects like Biostatics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical Medicine, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Epidemiology, Entomology, Bioinformatics and Drug Discovery, etc.

Structure of Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS) Ph.D Entrance Test

RMRIMS Ph.D Entrance Test consists of two sections – Part A and Part B. The first section is a compulsory part. Part A includes 50 questions of objective nature. Each of the correct answer will get1 mark. There will not be any negative marking for incorrect answers. The candidates have to complete this section within one hour.

Those candidates who get qualified in Part –A will only become eligible for attending the Part – B section.  The applicants have to choose any one group in part B section. The questions in this section are of short answer type. The candidates are required to answer any 25 out of 50 questions in Part B. Each right answer values 4 marks. The duration of Part B exam is 2 ½ hours.

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification required to appear for RMRIMS Ph.D Entrance Test is an M.Sc/M.Pharm/M.Tech in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Statistics, Microbiology, Life Sciences, or Zoology. Those who have done MBA can also attend this test. The candidates are required to score around 55% marks in the post graduation level. The minimum score required for SC/ST candidates is 50% marks. The final year post graduate students can also apply for the entrance test.

How to Apply?

The application has to be written or typed in times new roman on A4 size paper in the format mentioned in the official website. The duly filled in applications must be send along with a crossed DD of Rs. 300/-. The DD must be valid for at least 6 months and it has to be drawn in favor of The Director RMRIMS, Patna. The DD taken must be payable at Patna. The SC/ST candidates have to draw a DD of Rs. 200/- only.  Both the demand draft and the filled application should be send to The Director, RMRIMS, Agamkuan, Patna 800007, India.

How to fill the Form?

  • Read the instructions with utmost care
  • Every column in the application form should be filled in suitably
  • The applicant has to sign in each page of the document and the application form where ever necessary
  • The application must be enclosed with two photographs of the candidate
  • Paste one of the photographs in  the form with his/her signature in it
  • Do not put any column vacant in the application form
  • Enter the details about the centre and the course with intense care
  • Keep a photocopy of the DD and the filled in application for further reference
