Rajiv Gandhi College of Veterinary Animal Sciences, which came into existence in the year 1994 is an institution run by the Government of Pondicherry and this college is affiliated to Pondicherry University. The college is located in the Pondicherry-Vazhudavur-Thirukkanoor road, which is approximately 8 kms from the main bus stand in Pondicherry. The college can be reached easily from Pondicherry main bus stand since tempo and auto services are available.

Eligibility Criteria:

UG Course:

For seeking admission to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry course, candidates must have completed their higher secondary or equivalent examination with not less than 50% of aggregate marks (40% for SC candidates) in chemistry, physics, zoology, botany/biology subjects. The minimum age requirement for seeking admission to the course is 17 years at the end of the year in which the candidate is seeking admission and there is no maximum age limit.

PG Course:

For seeking admission to the Master of Veterinary Science course, candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science/Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from an institution approved by the Veterinary Council of India with minimum OGPA of 6.0 on 10 point scale. For seeking admission to this PG course, candidates must have completed 35 years of age on the end of the year in which he/she is seeking admission.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to the UG course is done based on the marks secured by the students in the All India Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Veterinary Council of India for 15% of seats in veterinary colleges, while for PG course, it is done based on the entrance examination conducted by RAGACOVAS, Pondicherry.

How to apply:

Application forms along with information bulletin can be obtained from the campus of the college on or after the 3rd week of April every year and candidates will have to submit the duly filled in application along with required documents before the last week of May every year for seeking admission in a particular year.

The college offers several infrastructural facilities like library, computer access, etc…to the students to develop their knowledge.
