Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati
Regional College of Nursing was established in the year 1977, under North Eastern Council (NEC) scheme and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The college is affiliated to the Gauhati University and it is directly controlled and administered by the Government of Assam.
The college offers excellent education in the field of nursing through well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The primary aim of the college is to produce professional Nurses who are responsible in the promotion of health, prevention of disease and care of the individuals, families and community.
It plays a key role for the upliftment of nursing education in North East states of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura.
Courses offered:
Regional College of Nursing offers both Undergraduate and Post Graduate programmes in the field of nursing.
The Undergraduate courses offered are B Sc (Nursing) and Condensed B.Sc. Nursing. The duration of the B Sc (Nursing) course is four years. The duration of the Condensed B.Sc. Nursing course is 2 years.
The Post Graduate course offered is M Sc (Nursing). The duration of the course is 2 years.
Eligibility criteria for getting admission:
The candidates who have successfully passed in 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) are eligible for getting admission for B Sc (Nursing) course. The candidates must get qualified in the medical entrance test and academic merit evaluation conducted by the Gauhati University.
The candidates who have successfully completed B.Sc Nursing with at least 55% marks, and have one year working experience are eligible for getting admission for M Sc (Nursing) course. The candidates must get qualified in the PG medical entrance test and academic merit evaluation conducted by the Gauhati University.

The Regional College of Nursing has a good infrastructure with well-equipped library, laboratory, medical facility, and extra-curricular activities.
