Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering Technology (SLIET) is a reputed institute in India offering technical education to the aspirants. This institute offers various Doctoral degree Programmes for the aspirants. SLIET Entrance Test for Ph D Programs (SET VIII) entrance test is an entrance test conducted by SLIET each year for the selection of candidates for the Doctoral Degree programmes offered by the institute. The PhD programmes are offered for various disciplines. The courses are offered as Full Time with Fellowship, Full Time without Fellowship and of Part time. Structure of SET VIII

The selection of the candidates for the PhD courses are on the basis of their performance in the written test, Interview and the marks scored in the Post graduate exam. The test is of objective type format consists of 100 multiple type questions. The time duration of the test is of two hours. The test consists of questions from the concerned subjects opted by the candidates. There is no any negative mark for wrong answers. After the written test candidates have to appear for an interview which includes questions about their research topics. The merit list is prepared on the base of the marks scored in the entire test and in their qualifying exam.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who have a Post Graduate Degree in Engineering / Technology / Science/ Humanities/ Management with minimum 55% marks can apply for the Doctoral programme. The SC/St candidates should have 50% marks for the Masters degree Examination.

How to Apply?

The application form SLIET SET VIII test will be accessible from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering Technology (SLIET). The candidates can acquire the form from the institute by the cash payment of Rs.600/- for the general candidates and Rs.300/- for the SC/ST candidates. By forwarding a demand draft taken from Central Bank Of India/State Bank of India/ Oriental Bank of Commerce/Punjab National Bank/ICICI Bank and a request letter to the authority for getting the form by post.. How to fill the Form?

The candidates have to follow all the instructions given in the hand book for filling the form. No any documents should be stapled or pinned with the application form. The photograph of the candidates pasted in the form should be taken within two months and must be clear. The form will not be tearing or damaged. The candidates’ communication address should be mentioned correctly. The application form should be sent only through Registered post or speed post. The form reached by all other means will be rejected

Study Plan

The candidates need hours of preparation for winning the exam. The candidates should have an aim to score how much marks in the exam. Plan their study according to that. All the topics for the exam will be available from the official website. Collect the notes for all the topics and prepare for the exam with the help of that. The candidates have to prepare short notes and shortcuts for the difficult topics. Revise each topic regularly. It helps them to remember all the topics in the syllabus. Remove all the stress and tension at the time of the exam. It will make them score good marks in the exam.

Score Validity

The exam score is valid for one year. The score is only applicable  for getting admission for the present academic year only.
