The exam for the Office Procedure and Practice (category VII) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. It is a Limited form of Departmental Competitive Exam, conduced in order to recruit candidates in SO’s/STENP’s grade officer.

Division or Section in the paper:

The paper contains no section or division, but carries a line of main question arranged according to the length of the paper.

Pattern of the paper:

The paper carries a maximum of six main questions. The first main question carries five sub-questions, each of which are true or False based. Candidates have to compulsorily attempt this main question. There are five other main questions, out of which the candidates have to attempt any four. The second and the third carry three sub-questions, where as the fourth and the fifth main question, caries three sub-question. The last sixth main question carries six sub-questions, each of which are short answer based. Candidates can attempt any five from these six.

Markings evaluated by the Examination Board:

The total mark offered by the paper is one hundred. The first main question carries 10 marks, where as the remaining 5 carries 20 marks.

Time allotted for the examination:

The maximum time allotted for the examination is three hour.
