The paper of UPSC is a highly prestigious paper and it conducts the examination of various government sectors on the post of gazetted ranks. The CISF is a unit which is responsible for the security of various companies and industries.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of general ability and professional skills is an objective paper, as suggested from its name it is a practical paper. Total number of questions in the paper is 125 and there are no alternative of any of the questions. All questions are compulsory. The paper contains multiple choices, assertion and reasoning, true or false statements type questions. The paper contains penalty for the wrong answer, one third of the mark allotted to the question is deducted for every wrong answer.

Questions of the paper are of objective type, candidates have to choose the correct option from the choices given. Question in the paper are of general knowledge, current affairs, technical questions, questions based on the defence services, basic questions from economy, IQ based questions etc. The paper does not repeat its questions but pattern is same every year.  There is negative marking, so candidates have to answer wisely and should only attempt those questions on which they are sure.

Total marks and time allotted:

Total marks in the paper are 250 and time duration for the paper is 2 hours only. Each question is of 2 marks. As the number of questions is very large, candidates should answer the paper quickly. For every wrong answer one-third of 2 is deducted.
