Sports Authority of India was actually established in the year 1982 under Government of India. The authority came into existence as a successor organization of the IXth Asian Games held in New Delhi. The idea behind the establishment of the authority was to provide a helping hand in the promotion of Sports and Games of the Department of Sports. The authory also had the hold the responsibility of maintaining the Stadiums located in Delhi for the IX Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982. Later on, the authority garnered the status of being a Deemed University in the year 1995.

Job Profile:

Sports Authority of India is inviting applications from eligible candidates for making recruitment on the position of Sport Coach. The appointment of candidates will be made on purely contract basis for a initial period of one year. Candidates are required to fulfill all the eligibility conditions set for the post.

Eligibility:

30 yeras as on 1 August 2011 is the maximum age limit set for the post of Sport Coach in Sports Authority of India. Candidates belonging to reserved categoires (SC/ST etc) may get relaxation in the upper age limit set for the specified position. General category candidates will not get any relaxation in the maximum age limit set for the post of Sport Coach. The relaxation in age will be provided to the reserved categories candidates as per the rules of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates are required possess Diploma in Coaching from SAI NS-NIS patiala from a recognized Indian or Foreign university. Candidates, who have done Participation in Olympics or Asian Games or World Championship in the discipline concerned with a Certificate Course in Coaching, are also eligible to apply for the post of Sport Coach in Sports Authority of India. The desirable qualification for the specified position is B.P.Ed. Degree.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary i.e. Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.

Application Fee:

Rs. 500 is the amount of application fee for the General and OBC categories canddiates. No application fee is need to be paid by the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women or Ex-Serviceman categories. The Application fee must be paid through a Demand Draft of requisite application fee. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Secretary, Sports Authority of India payable at New Delhi. Submission of application is must for all the interested candidates.
