TheTamil Nadu Dr M.G.R Medical University was established in the 1987 and is a renowned university that has the authority to grant affiliation to newly established medial colleges, awarding degrees as well as financing- self and government financing. It is also responsible for regulating dental education and the Indian systems of medicine’s education and promotes research and imparts knowledge gained from it.

Pattern of the question paper

The B.N.Y.S paper has a well organised and a simple pattern with three sectional divisions.  The first part consists of essay type questions. There are two questions in this part and each question may or may not contain sub parts. All the questions are compulsory. The second part short notes. A total of ten topics are given and the candidate is required to write brief notes on them and the third part contains ten short answer questions. Like the first section, the second and third section also has no choices. All the questions are compulsory to attempt.

Marks distribution and time allocation

The total mark allocated to this paper is hundred. The first part contains two questions of fifteen marks each and the second part contains ten short notes, each of five marks followed by the last section which is of twenty marks, each question carrying two marks.The time allocated to this paper is three hours.
