What is civil services prelims syllabus?
dear sir,
myself reshma persuing b.tech iii year in cse department. i am interested in civil services. so,can you guide me that what books have to prefer? and can you tell me that,for prelim exams which topics have to prepare?i would like to start preparations from tomorrow on wards ?please guide me in such a way that what should be prepared first.please help me,so i would be thank full for your valuable suggestions thanks & regards, reshma |

In the Prelims exams there are two papers.
Topics that are there in these Two Papers are: Paper one History of India and Indian National Movement. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World. Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization. General Science. Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc. Paper Two Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision-making and problem-solving Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills; General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. English Language Comprehension skills Books for Preparations: Guide to IAS CSAT(Civil Services Aptitude Test Paper II) UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination Paper-I in 60 days by Rakesh Dwivedi The Pearson CSAT Manual 2013: Civil Services Aptitude Test for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examinationby Edgar Thorpe, Showick Thorpe |

Civil service exam conduct for recruiting the candidate of - IAS ,IPS and IRS department .
Educational Qualification for Civil Service Exam:- Those candidate have completed graduation degree from recognized university are applicable for Civil Service exam. Age criteria for Civil Service Exam:- For General category candidate your age should be in between 21 to 30 years For OBC category candidates your age should be between 21 to 33 years For SC/ST category candidates age should be between 21 to 35 years. No of attempts for Civil Service Exam:- 4 attempts for General category candidates 7 attempts for OBC category candidates Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates I have attached the Syllabus for Civil Service exam so please check it out. The Civil Services Examination(CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service(IAS), Indian Ordnance Factories Service(IOFS), Indian Foreign Service(IFS), Indian Forest Service(IFS), Indian Police Service(IPS) and Indian Revenue Service(IRS) among others. The civil services examination is conducted in two phases - the Preliminary examination, consisting of two objective-type papers(General Studies and Aptitude Test), and the Mains examination, consisting of nine papers of conventional(essay) type followed by the Personality Test(Interview). The civil services Preliminary examination syllabus is mentioned as below:- Paper - 1:- Current events, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, Environmental ecology, Biodiversity, Climate Change and General science. Civil services examination is organized by Union Public Service Commission every year for those opponents who wish to be an IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS officers. The civil services prelims syllabus is below mentioned:- * 1st Paper:- Indian and World Geography/Indian Polity and Governance/Economic and Social Development/Environmental ecology/Biodiversity/Climate Change and General science/Current events/History of India and Indian National Movement. * 2nd Paper:- Analytical Ability/Decision Making/Problem Solving/Basic Numeracy/Data Interpretation/English Language Comprehension Skills and Mental Ability/Comprehension/Interpersonal skills/Communication/Logical Reasoning/Analytical Ability. The educational qualifications regarding with civil services examination are below mentioned:- * Opponents must have finished their bachelor degree in any curriculum from any approved institution. * There is no percentage for this examination. * Opponents of last year of bachelor degree are also preferable for this exam. The age criteria and relaxation regarding with civil services examination are below mentioned:- * 21-30 years. * Relaxation:- 3 years, 5 years and 10 years for OBC, SC/ST and PH opponents. * Citizenship:- Opponents must be an Indian. * Opponents must have 4 and 7 no. of attempts for General and OBC category. * There is no attempts granted for SC/ST opponents.
