The full name of this college is Vrajlal Manilal Vasant Commerce, Jaydeoshankar Manishankar Thakar Arts and Jashbai Jijibhai Patel Science College and this college came into existence in the year 1905. Being one of the oldest institutions in Nagpur, the college is working towards spread and promotion of education in this part of the country. The college is offering arts, science and commerce courses with affiliation from the Nagpur University.

Eligibility for admission:

For seeking admission to the first year of the Bachelor of Arts, Commerce and computer application courses, candidates must have completed their higher secondary school leaving examination from the Board of secondary and higher secondary education of the state of Maharashtra or from any other equivalent board. For seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science course, they must have completed higher secondary course in science stream. For second and third year of these courses, candidates must get through the previous year examination.

Library and reading room at the college:

Library at the college has well-stocked collection of books and a reading room is also attached to the college. Students are allowed to borrow the books and the books should be returned within the specified time. It is subscribing for monthly, fortnightly and daily newspapers and journals and magazines pertaining to different subjects like general knowledge, literature, sports, computer, science, commerce and economics. The library also offers book bank facility to the deserving students.

Sport facility at the college:

Qualified physical education teachers offer physical education training to the students and special coaching is offered to the students to participate in the inter-collegiate sports competitions. The college has made provisions to play different games to the students and there is also a well-equipped gymnasium at the campus of the college.
