Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing is one of the medical courses offered by the institute. It is a 4 year course with integrated practice included. There are 9 theoretical papers and 2 practical papers and including the library work and co-curricular activity this course is of 1660 hours.

Syllabus of examination:

The nutrition paper has 11 units which teach relationship between nutrition and health,about different nutrients such as carbohydrate, fats, protein, vitamin and minerals. Biochemistry has 7 units and it covers the biochemical composition of human body and it’s functioning.

Time Duration:

There are 2 written examinations. One is of 50 marks which are conducted for internal assessment and the other is of 100 marks which are for the external evaluation. Both are for 3 hours duration.

Division of the paper:

The 100 marks paper has 10 short answer types question each of 2 marks. Then 10 questions of 5 marks each are short note type and two 15 mark essay questions are there. For the purpose of internal evaluation separate exam of 50 marks is conducted for nutrition and biochemistry. It has three types of questions. 5 short answer, 5 short note and 1 essay type. The marking scheme is same as that for 100 marks. To pass one must score 50 % in all the papers.
