Tirhut College of Agriculture, Dholi
The foundation stone for the establishment of Tirhut College of Agriculture was laid by the first chief minister of the state of Bihar Late Dr. Srikrishna Singh on the 18th of August 1960. The college is located at a distance of about 25 kms from the city of Muzaffarpur on the Muzaffarpur-Pusa Road. The college acts as a constituent unit of the Rajendra Agricultural University located in Pusa.
Course details:
Tirhut College of Agriculture offers four-year B. Sc Agriculture degree course and the intake capacity of the college for this course is 50 students. Admission of students to this course is done through a competitive examination conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. Out of the total 50 seats, eight seats are reserved for candidates qualifying through the entrance examination conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research located at New Delhi.
Other offerings to the students:
The students of Tirhut College of Agriculture are trained in modern methods of protection, production and improvement of crop technologies. In order to ensure overall development of students, they are encouraged to participate in different activities like dramatic, cultural, debating, sports and games literacy and in NCC/NSS activities as well. In addition, the final year students of the college are sent to field work under Rural Agricultural Work Experience programme for a period of six months. For ensuring self-employment of students, special training/courses pertaining to nursery management, floriculture, apiculture, mushroom cultivation and plant health clinic are offered to students.

• Tackling the problems in the field of agriculture
• Offering agricultural education to young men and men
Personality development activities at the college:
Tirhut College of Agriculture feels that the responsibility of an education institution is not only to offer bookish knowledge to the students, but also for ensuring the overall development of personality of candidates. Therefore, the college has formed a number of societies like debate society, literary society, dramatic society, cultural society, sports and games society for facilitating the students to participate in extra and co-curricular activities. These societies, work in close co-ordination with university level societies for organizing inter-collegiate and intra-collegiate competitions in debate, sports, games, etc…for preparing students to represent university level competitions.
The college also offers other facilities like library, computer lab, hostel facility, etc… to students.
