IBPS Specialist officer exam pattern
IBPS Specialist officer exam is organized so as to recruit aspirants into various specialist officer positions at 19 nationalized banks. A score card will be issued and its validity will be for 1 year. This exam will be organized twice in a year which provides opportunity for the aspirants to improve their scores. These 19 banks will recruit aspirants from this list whenever there will be any vacancy in their firm. The aspirants need to apply with their score to attend group discussion as well as interview in any of the 19 nationalized banks. Aspirants who will qualify in the written test will be intimated through mail as well as SMS. They will receive the score card via post.
Syllabus for IBPS Specialist officer exam
For Law Officer Scale I and II as well as Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I) the syllabus of the exam is as follows.

- General Awareness (related to Banking Industry)
- Professional Knowledge
- English Language
For every other post the syllabus is as follows.
- Reasoning
- Professional Knowledge
- English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
Question Pattern of IBPS Specialist officer exam
The exam comprises of objective type questions. There will be a total of 200 questions for this exam. The total time allotted for this exam will be 120 minutes. The questions of this exam will be divided into four sections. Each section will have 50 questions. The aspirants need to qualify separately in each section and also in total to clear the exam. Each of the questions will be provided with four choices. The aspirants need to choose the right answer from the given options. They will get 1 mark for every correct answer. ¼ marks will be deducted as a penalty for wrong answers.
How to Prepare for IBPS Specialist officer exam?
The aspirants have to be well prepared for this exam as there will be tight competition. They have to start preparation for this exam at least 2 to 3 months prior to the exam. They should focus on each and every core areas included in the exam. They have to practice questions at home from standard text books giving importance to time management so as to be confident enough to do maximum number of questions in the exam. Previous question papers must be referred to get an idea about the pattern of the test. There are various coaching centers also available that helps aspirants to compete with other candidates. They are advised to keep ready all the documents to be presented at the time of exam well before the exam so as to avoid last minute rush.
