The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) offers MBA degree in rare subjects such as International Business, Management Accounting, Operations Management, and Petroleum Refining Technology & Economics. Engineering graduates or M.Sc holders with at least 60% marks can apply. Regular students as well as sponsored category candidates can seek admission to this course.  Admission of sponsored candidates is done through GD and interview. Other students can seek admission through written test, GD and interview.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission for MBA in RGIPT

Engineering graduates are eligible to seek admission to MBA in RGIPT. Master degree holders in science with a minimum of 60% marks can also apply. M.Sc degree should be obtained in streams like Geoscience, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics/Geology. Eligible candidate should have studied mathematics as a subject and must have secured an aggregate mark of 60%. SC/ST candidates need to obtain at least 55% marks in HSC. They should have a valid score in CAT/GMAT. Applicants are short listed on merit basis. From the pool of short listed candidates, selection of eligible ones is made through group discussion and interview.

Certain seats for MBA are reserved for sponsored category candidates. Educational qualifications insisted for such students are same as that prescribed for regular students. They should have at least 2 years of work experience with the sponsored organization. CAT/GMAT/XAT score is not mandatory for applicants. Selection process, in this case is made through group discussion and interview.

Application Process for MBA in RGIPT

Applications can be submitted online through the web site of RGIPT. Print out of the submitted application form must be sent to address of the MBA Admission Office, RGIPT. Application fee of Rs.1000/- can be submitted in the form of Demand Draft or using debit card/credit card facility. The copy of the fee payment receipt must be attached along with the hard copy of the application form.
