B.Tech Information Technology Engineering Lateral Entry Admissions in Kerala University
Diploma holders can enter the 2nd year B.Tech Tech Information Technology Engineering by lateral entry. This scheme has an approval from the government of Kerala. But to enter through this method, students will need to attend a State Level Lateral Entry Test. This exam will be carried out by the University of Kerala. Students who qualify themselves in this exam can get admittance into the engineering courses that are offered by a variety of colleges recognized by the University. The DTE will allot the seats on the basis of the rank of the candidates and the availability of seats.
Eligibility for B.Tech Information Technology Lateral Entry in Kerala University
The admittance of students is done as per as the rank scored by the aspirants in the admission test. For gaining admittance into the B.Tech in Information Technology program, aspirants must have a Diploma in Information Technology. The minimum score they must have in their finals is 60 percent. Students of the SEBC category are given relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST students only need a pass. Those who will be attending their final year exams can apply too. But they must procure their certification prior to their admission. They should also be less than 28 years at the time of admission.

Details about the reservation generally are as follows:
- Management seats - 15%
- Government Seats - 85%
- Physically Disabled - 3% (students must be 40% disabled and must present the medical certificate at time of admission)
- Defense Quota – 1 Seat
- The communal reservation will be allotted as per the norms.
Applying for B.Tech Information Technology Lateral Entry in Kerala University
Students can get the form from centers specified. Apart from this, they can also get the form from the official website of the institution. Those who are submitting the form by the online way can register themselves and then send a print out of the form along with all the required papers. The price of the form is Rs. 500/- for GC and Rs. 250/- for backward categories.
