To get admitted in the MCA programme in IIT (Roorkee) you need to possess any Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least one year for annual system candidates/at least two papers of Mathematics for semester system candidates with at least 55% aggregate marks provided you belong to General/OBC category. For the students belonging to SC/ST and PD category the threshold is 55% aggregate marks.

Hi dear,

You are eligible for entrance exam for mca i.e. IIT - JAM which is conducted in the month of may every year .

The eligibility criteria's regarding the examination just says that you need to pass 12th grade with Maths as a subject and must have obtained alteast 55% aggregate in graduation or equivalent for a general candidate with a relaxation of 5% for constitutionally reserved candidates and that's all ..

You can click here for viewing eligibility criteria's .

For details regarding IIT-JAM , visit http://jam.iitm.ac.in ..

Thanks

Dear pal,
it is too early for you to think of the masters degree as you have a long way to go. First you need appear in a bachelor degree and secure good percentage. The minimum percentage required for applying for the exam is 50%.
The aspirants are admitted to the MCA course in IIT through the entrance exam NIMCET. The other important requirement is that you should have chosen maths as one of your subjects in the 2. Or you should have studied mathematics as a paper in your degree course. You are not eligible for mca though you have completed bca with good percentage. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam. IIT being a top institution competition will be high for it and you need to do well in the entrance exam in order to get into it. The exam includes aptitude questions from maths and general knowledge questions. So you will be able to crack the exam only if you have good knowledge in your mathematics .

1.)At least 55% aggregate marks ( taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined ) for General / OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks ( taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined ) for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree. For candidates with letter grades / CGPA ( instead of percentage of marks ), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
2.)Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the minimum educational qualification as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 30th September, 2011. At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of registration, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a candidate is not found to be physically fit to pursue his / her chosen course of study, his / her admission is liable to be cancelled.

so you are eligible for IIT JAM . Go ahead friend. Best of luck..!!
