Eligiblity Creteria for B.ed -

Bachelor’s degree or any other qualification recognised equivalent thereto from a
recognised university with a minimum of 50 % and

below, with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate in each of these two subjects. (All
the papers/ courses offered by the candidate in each of the two subjects at the bachelor’s degree to be taken into consideration for the purpose of calculation of each of the subject percentage)

OR

Masters degree in Commerce from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.


So, You Have Scored Minimum 45% Marks In Your bacholar Degree. So, I Think You are Eligible.

Bachelor of Education is one year long graduation course taken by candidates who are interested in teaching. Completing B.Ed degree opens the door of school teaching for the candidates.


Depending on their graduation degree, they are selected by the schools to teach students specific subjects. For example, those who have completed B.Ed after B.A. can teach Geography, History and languages subjects to the students.


The biggest advantage of B.Ed is that it allows you to appear for exam for government teaching job. You can appear for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the education board of each state.


To pursue B.Ed you should meet the following criteria. Please read it carefully.

Admission to B.Ed. General Programme
The admissions to the B.Ed. General programme are centralized and made by the University of Jammu. The process is strictly based on merit of the applicant determined by the university followed by counselling sessions taken by the university authorities.
The cut off percentage for B.Ed. General programme is 45% marks at the graduation level. However, for the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC category the cut off percentage is 40%.

Since the admissions to the B.Ed. General programme and the M.Ed. programme are centrally conducted by the University of Jammu, the advertisement and the promotion for admissions is also done by the university authorities. As of now, the University of Jammu through the Director Colleges Development Council (DCDC) gives wide publicity for admissions to approved programmes through:

In order to be considered under the deputed category the teachers from Secondary/ Higher Secondary schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E./ W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools, at the time of interview and admission.
