I am doing B.E. in Electronics & communication from Punjab University in 3rd year. Now I want to join further studies after my Bachelor Degree. I am securing 82% in 10th and 78% in 12th and more than 70% in B.E.(ECE) till date. Now I want my field in research side. Now tell me what courses should I be joined and from where either from India and Foregin universities.

u can do m.tech in ECE,..by giving GATE....
or even give the MBA and get into IIMS.
if u want to do research then u better have a m.tech.in an iit...they r one of the best institute in the world.....After that u can hav ur p.hd in ur suject.,

i am very happy to hear your decision that you are interested in research.

you can go for M.tech. you have to apply for GATE.after getting good score in GATE you can get admission in reputed engineering college.

in M.tech. you can select your interested toppic like VLSI DESIGN, POWER ELECTRONICS,NETWORKING, MICROCONTROLLER, MOBILE COMMUNICATION etc. for research in future.

you can learn in depth about the toppic.after M.tech. you have to move for research work.means you have to do phd in reputed college like IITs, IISc, NITs etc.

If you want to make career in research field...you need to prepare to crack Gate exam...you have to do M.tech in colleges like any of IITs and there you will have the option to do research in your desirable fields...

You can persue for MTech course in research field. It is a specialised course which was designed for the students who have their interest in research side. This special degree is named as MTech (Research) in ------ (what the branches it may be). Right now this course is only offered in NITs and IITs. . Few NITs like NIT bhopal or allahabad offer research MTech in many fields.
Obviously it is valuable to make a career in research side.

Dear friend
As you are interested in research field then you should go for higher studies ie MTech and PhD.
For masters in the best possible colleges in India ie IITs and other you will have to appear GATE. the exam is conducted by IITs itself.
For admission to foreign unverties you should appear GRE. Its an online 1600 marks examination and the questions come from maths and english only. The exam is conducted by US.

The best option after your BTech will definately be MTech. Chose the specialization on which you would like to research. After you do your MTech in it you can then go for a PHd.

So lots of opportunities for you. As for now it looks like you are doing pretty good in engineering so prepare hard for GATE and try to get into top college which is IIT

For doing research, the main option is to write for GATE exam and go for a Mtech program specialising in any area like digital electronics, optical fiber, microprocessors, computer applications, communication theory, microwave, satellite commn etc. Areas are plenty and after Mtech you can go for a academic break or do the PhD

yes you can join mba,m.tech for the purpose of research in the field of ece

Hiiiiii for being researcher you need to be very patience.
and moreover you must do M.tech and also many government organisation like ECIL,BHEL,IISC etc give opportunity to learn and research for that they give notification for which you need to apply for selection procedure.

POOJA KHULALR for asking such a good question.. but the thing is that.. what is the difference between getting an M.E. from IIT or any other INDIAN INSTITUTE... & getting an M.S. from FORIEGN UNIV.. I mean is there any value difference between them.. coz.. both mean only the same level of degree.. thats y... In short.. For an IDEA to do very good RESEARCH M.E is best or M.S...???

hii, plese go to isro.com and look for careers surely some thimg will be helpful for you.

I suggest you to do MS or Phd as it seems you are interested in research field.

I am doing 2nd yr B.E. in Electronics & communication Engg. I am interested to do a research career in the heart of Astronomy / Astrophysics..fields.. many say that since you graduate as an engg. & not as a scientist / Physicst.. you wont be able to sit in that field for 100%.. like, they say,... "I WONT BE ABLE TO DO SOME RESEARCHES ON OUTER COSMOS / OUTER PLANETS.. RATHER I CAN HELP IN [/b][b]CONSTRUCTING INSTRUMENTS FOR SUCH OBSERVATIONS" .. Is this true... or its just a blind talk.. even if thats the truth aren't there atleast a 1% chance for me to shine as I like..?? :( ..

I actually had an idea to gather a lot of knowledge in "analzying Electromagnetic waves.." & do my final year project.. in such type itself... within 2 yrs of my completion of B.E... So that, after my M.S. & Ph.D. in foreign UNIV. in ASTRONOMY / ASTROPHYSICS... I can sit to observe the outer planetary objects.. by analyzing their radiations.. & thus do a research on outer planets... Is this not practically feasible..??

Very good. your decision of going towards the research side is very good and for get admission in research courses just appear for the GATE entrance test. If you get good rank in GATE then you can get admission in IITs or NITs (in the research branches of cse)

Hi! I've just completed my B.E. in Computer Science and would like to take up Research as a career. I would like to work on Defense projects. My aggregate is 72. Many have already said that one must go for M.Tech, but I would like to know if any of the companies provide training as well as career in Research and Development.
